ViziLite Oral Cancer
Screening
ViziLite Plus as part of a comprehensive oral
screening
Oral
cancer is one of the most curable diseases when it's caught early.
That's why the ViziLite Plus exam has been developed. ViziLite Plus uses
technology that has proven successful in identifying soft tissue
abnormalities in other areas of the body. A ViziLite Plus exam is
particularly important if you are at increased risk for developing oral
cancer.
The
ViziLite Plus exam can help your dentist or hygienist identify abnormal
tissue, that might develop into oral cancer.
An
annual ViziLite Plus exam, in combination with a regular visual
examination, provides a comprehensive oral screening procedure for
patients at increased risk for oral cancer. The ViziLite Plus exam is
painless and fast, and could help save your life.
ViziLite
Plus is performed immediately following a regular visual examination.
-
First,
you will be instructed to rinse with a cleansing solution
-
Next,
the overhead lighting will be dimmed.
-
Then,
your dental professional will examine your mouth using ViziLite Plus,
a specially designed light technology.
KCP System
Precision and Gentleness
A
new instrument that can be used as an alternative to the drill in many
procedures. A micro-scopically fine powder is carried to the tooth by a
stream of air, gently spraying away decay.
KCP System works
without a local Anesthetic (injections) or without Novacaine.
Imaging
DICOM Imaging System
Dental
images can be manipulated to simulate the results of suggested
treatments or procedures. Your images are then stored in a logical, easy
to use electronic patient "filing cabinet" for future review, comparison
and printing.
CEREC 3D
How about crowns and inlays
in one appointment, start to finish?
W
ith
the CEREC 3D CAD/CAM system, we can
prepare the tooth and take an optical "impression" using a special
camera. Then, the computer-controlled milling machine will create a
filling or crown out of a tooth-colored porcelain block in a matter of
minutes, right before your eyes! We then strongly bond this restoration
onto your tooth immediately, not in two to three weeks like with a
laboratory-made restoration. This means you don’t have to come back for
yet another visit to get your restoration placed. We can’t use this
method in every situation, but it looks like we are going to more and
more in the future. And as the software technology advances, even
bridges will be possible.

Intraoral Camera

See Your
Teeth
Maybe
if you could actually see those old fillings yourself, you'd feel a lot
better about having them fixed. Here's where an
intraoral camera is just the ticket!
An
intraoral camera is about the size
of a pen, so it fits easily into your mouth. Once positioned, it sends
pictures to a monitor, where your teeth and gums appear in a full-color,
usually as a very large image. Want a copy of the image? We can print
one for you.
Odyssey®
Diode Lasers
Soft

clean tissue modification.
Lasers
are the most precise, least traumatic, and will heal with less
post-operative pain than any other technique.
DIFOTI®
Digital Imaging Fiber-Optic Trans-Illumination
For
the most reliable detection of early tooth decay, Dr Smith uses the
DIFOTI system. What this means for the patient is:
-
No
harmful ionizing radiation
-
Helps detect tooth decay before cavities develop
-
Reduces long-term health-care costs
Digital
Radiography: Efficient and Safer
In
an effort to promote office efficiency and patient safety, we've
implemented new state-of-the-art imaging techniques. This state-of
-the-art technology reduces patient x-ray exposure by 80%.
In
addition, the digitalized images can be stored and transmitted easier
than regular x-ray film. The upgrade also enhances diagnosis, and helps
make certain specialized treatment such as implants and root canals more
efficient. We are proud to offer digital x-rays in all of our treatment
rooms.
Single
Tooth Anesthesia
The
STA™ System technology utilizes computer controlled local anesthesia
delivery to enhance the injection process for both the dentist and the
patient.
Audio
and visual confirmations make injections like the PDL more accurate and
less stressful.
